These devices have made treating cases that require maximum support and anchorage easier to correct. These pins are temporarily placed in areas to maximize proper tooth movement and minimize reciprocal or unwanted tooth movement. The pins are removed after they are no longer needed for the tooth movement. Both insertion and removal of these pins is done in the orthodontic office and requires only minimal anesthetics.
